Health care industry consulting and speaking arrangements

Park Nicollet staff owes a duty of loyalty to Park Nicollet Heath Services and its patients and must disclose, avoid and minimize the influence of any conflicts of interest that may arise from consulting and speaking relationships with health care industries (HCIs).

As required by Park Nicollet Heath Services policy, all outside paid consulting and speaking relationships between clinicians and HCIs that are reported shall be posted as shown below, available for review by the public.

HCI refers to any vendor, manufacturer, distributor, contractor, service company, or any other organization that sells or provides products or services to Park Nicollet Heath Services. Examples of HCIs may include, but are not limited to organizations which market or sell pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical supplies, office products, technology hardware and software, or business support services.

Compliance

The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA) requires health care systems, such as Park Nicollet Health Services (including Park Nicollet Clinic, Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital and Park Nicollet Institute), to provide its contractors and agents with certain information about federal and state laws addressing false claims and false statements.

To comply with the act, Park Nicollet Health Services made available the following Corporate Compliance Program documents:
