Ted Wegleitner named TRIA Chief Operating Officer

Park Nicollet Health Services has announced that Ted Wegleitner has been named Chief Operating Officer of TRIA Orthopaedic Center, effective October 20, 2011.
Park Nicollet Health Services, one of the original founding partners of TRIA, assumed full ownership of TRIA at the end of 2010 and co‑manages it with University of Minnesota Physicians.
Wegleitner started at Park Nicollet in 1987 as Manager of Park Nicollet HealthSource. Over the past 7 years, Wegleitner has served in various capacities as Vice President including Health Education, Employer Services, Surgical Services, and most recently was Senior Vice President, Hospital Integration (a position he assumed in November 2010).
Wegleitner will oversee Park Nicollet’s unique and highly effective partnership with University of Minnesota Physicians which has helped develop TRIA’s well deserved reputation for clinical excellence, education, outcomes assessment and innovation. TRIA clinic encounters have increased 11.8% year-to-date. The TRIA Ambulatory Surgery Center’s 2011 patient experience surveys have an average of 97% of patients strongly recommending TRIA.
Recently, the innovative TRIA Hilton Recovery Program was announced as a finalist in the 2011 Medica Innovation contest. More than 250 patients have had hip or knee replacement surgery at TRIA’s Ambulatory Surgery Center followed by a comfortable convalescence, monitored by TRIA nurses, at the Hilton hotel across the street.
TRIA’s education of fellows in Sports Medicine and University of Minnesota Orthopaedic residents and Medical Students contributes significantly to graduate medical education. Enrollment in and analysis of clinical outcome studies continue to rise and are on a trajectory which uniquely positions TRIA as a national leader in assessing and improving the effectiveness of orthopaedic care.
