Park Nicollet Clinics honored by UCare at its Salute to Excellence! event – Press release
12/17/2012

UCare held its fourth annual provider recognition event on November 27, 2012, to recognize outstanding performances by Minnesota clinics and care systems that participated in UCare’s 2011 Pay for Performance Program (P4P).

Among the providers recognized at UCare’s “Salute to Excellence!” event was Park Nicollet Clinics. With more than 8,200 employees, including more than 1,000 physicians on staff, Park Nicollet Health Services is a nonprofit, integrated health care system located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Within Park Nicollet Health Services are several nationally-renowned specialty care facilities focused on bariatric surgery, cancer, heart and vascular health and other chronic conditions. Park Nicollet was recognized by UCare’s P4P program for UCare’s Minnesota Senior Health Options (MSHO) Overall Performance Quality of Care.

At the November 27 Salute to Excellence! dinner and awards ceremony, UCare’s management and provider groups gathered at the University of Minnesota’s McNamara Alumni Center. Top-performing health care professionals and organizations were recognized for providing health care to members of UCare’s Medicare programs and Minnesota Health Care Programs (MCHP), such as MinnesotaCare and Prepaid Medical Assistance Program (PMAP).

“We salute these high-performing health care providers, who work every day to make a difference in the health of UCare members,” said Nancy Feldman, President and CEO, UCare. “Our Pay for Performance Program rewards clinics and care systems of all sizes for quality care and improvement – and their commitment to helping our members’ health and well-being. We are very pleased to honor Park Nicollet Health Services for its fine performance in 2011.”

2011 Pay for Performance Program results

UCare’s Pay for Performance (P4P) program paid more than $2.8 million to clinics and care systems across Minnesota and western Wisconsin for their performance in key quality-of-health measurements achieved in 2011.

All results achieved in 2011 were analyzed in 2012; payments were made in November 2012. These payments recognized and rewarded providers for superior or improved performance in measurable key areas of preventive care.
