Park Nicollet and HealthPartners Dental break ground on new facility in Plymouth
Park Nicollet and HealthPartners will break ground on a new facility in Plymouth on Friday, Sept. 6. After more than 25 years in its current location near I-494 and Highway 55, the new 53,000-square-foot facility will better serve the growing Plymouth community.
The facility will include a Park Nicollet clinic for patients of all ages and a night and weekend urgent care. Medical services at the clinic will include urgent care, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, ob-gyn, rehabilitation services, lab, radiology and ultrasound.
The facility will also include a HealthPartners Dental Clinic, which will offer general and pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and TMD services.
The link between medical and dental health has been well established in recent years, as oral health complications can be associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
“By having both a medical clinic and dental clinic in one facility, patients will be provided with exceptional care for the entire body,” said David Abelson, MD, president of care delivery for Park Nicollet and HealthPartners.
Scheduled to open in November 2014, the new facility will be located at the intersection of Highway 55 and County Road 101. Among the many sustainable choices being made in construction is the installation of solar panels, a renewable energy source that will account for $13,000 in energy savings every year.
