CEO Message

Each year, Park Nicollet Health Services registers some amazing accomplishments, and 2002 was no exception.

Our patient safety and outcome efforts earned five prestigious awards, including Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety's first annual Patient Safety Award and the American Medical Group Association's Acclaim Award — our fourth. Park Nicollet Foundation also was one of two nationwide recipients of Jostens' "Our Town" Corporate Award.

While this recognition adds to our pride, caring for and supporting the health, healing and learning of those we serve is what our staff does every day. In 2002, we made 10 sustainable care improvements and continued to innovate by opening Jane Brattain Boutique @ Park Nicollet, the first of its kind for women and families touched by cancer, and launching an annual diabetes checkup and assessment service, also the first of its kind.

Technology advanced us considerably, as we moved through Phase II of a three-year integrated medical record (IMR) initiative. This included successfully merging 1.7 million patients from our Park Nicollet Clinic system with 900,000 patients in our Methodist Hospital system.

And, while I am pleased and humbled by receiving the American Medical Group Association's Medical Preeminence Award for exceptional leadership, the great news about Park Nicollet is that leadership occurs at all levels. Everything you read on this site represents what happens when staff aligns with Park Nicollet's values, mission and vision, and acts to meet our mutual goals.

I hope you enjoy reading about our achievements.
