Music therapy

Patient playing an instrument with a music therapist.

Music therapy helps treat physical, psychological, emotional and social aspects of illness or disability by decreasing symptoms, allowing emotional expression and improving overall quality of life.

Music therapy enhances cancer treatment by creating a positive relaxation experience for reduced anxiety and pain perception. Staff plays music and sings with patients to comfort and allow meaningful expression of memories and feelings.

For more information on music therapy, call Dawn Miller, Park Nicollet music therapist, at 952-993-5901.
