Park Nicollet Frauenshuh Cancer Center will be a new, patient-centered facility where cancer care is provided in one place. The new center is expected to open in 2009 on the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital campus.
The need for cancer care is growing. Research suggests that 50 percent of Minnesotan’s will be diagnosed with invasive cancer in their lifetime. As the population ages, demand for cancer services is dramatically increasing. To accommodate these needs, Park Nicollet is combining and expanding cancer services currently offered at Park Nicollet Cancer Center (Meadowbrook) and Park Nicollet Clinic—St. Louis Park.
Frauenshuh Cancer Center has been made possible through Park Nicollet Foundation support. The new facility will be called Park Nicollet Frauenshuh Cancer Center in recognition of David and Sandra Frauenshuh’s generous gifts benefiting cancer support and treatment.
Park Nicollet Cancer Center is proud of the excellent care it already provides, but we know we can make it better. Our goal is to build a new cancer center where services come to the patient in a soothing, healing environment and coordination between specialists is greatly enhanced. Benefits will include:
- all services come to the patient
- decreased patient movement and waiting time
- greater integration of latest research and treatments into care
- education center for patient and community use
- improved access to spiritual care, music therapy, psychotherapy
