Biological therapy

Biological therapy uses substances normally made in small amounts by your own body to boost your immune system to fight cancer more effectively or lessen side effects.

These substances are made in a laboratory and given to patients to destroy cancer cells or change the way the body reacts to a tumor. They also may help the body repair or make new cells destroyed by chemotherapy. Also known as immunotherapy or biotherapy, biological therapy affects all parts of the body.
