Child-life specialist

The child-life specialist is a child-friendly resource for you. When you enter our doors, it may be frightening for you and your child. The child-life specialist helps reduce stress and fears and helps make it easier for hospital staff to provide the care you want and need during your emergency center, one day surgery and pediatrics visits. We provide a non-threatening environment to offer you the chance to:

• play an active role on the medical care team
• meet the medical staff members taking care of your child
• use creativity through art, games, music and medical play
• voice fears and concerns
