Insulin Education
Insulin Education is designed for adults who have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who need to start insulin, and adults who already take insulin and need an update. In this program, which helps people manage diabetes with insulin, participants learn how insulin works in the body, how to give an injection, how to test blood glucose (sugar), how food affects blood glucose levels, carbohydrate counting and adjusting insulin to reach target blood glucose goals. The program includes four sessions over a period of about six to eight weeks. Knowledge and self-care skills grow with each session, along with the ability to monitor and evaluate diabetes control.
