Patient care
Neurosurgery provides operative and nonoperative management of nervous system disorders, including spine, brain and peripheral nerves. Staff providers collaborate with other specialists as needed. Neurosurgery uses minimally invasive techniques for removing benign and malignant brain tumors. This means shorter surgical times, shorter stays in the hospital and better outcomes.

Surgery services
Neurosurgery surgical services include performing complex cranial and spinal procedures. Our physicians have access to the most current technology to improve patient safety and outcomes.

We also offer conservative approaches to managing back pain, so your services may include nonsurgical treatment options, such as:

• epidural steroid injections
• trigger point injections
• occupational therapy
• physical therapy
• medication management
• pool therapy

Call, hospital rounding
Neurosurgical service consistently is covered by one of our neurosurgeons who is on 24-hour call and available to cover emergencies.

Research, teaching
We conduct regular interdepartmental educational sessions with neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine and other colleagues on topics of mutual interest.

Continuing medical education (CME)
Education and support is provided by our providers and nurse case managers.

Staff is expected to use their academic days to pursue CME. Education endeavors are directed at maintaining clinical expertise, applying technology advances to patient care and diversification of patient care management for neurosurgery patients.
