Required Rotations

Each resident will be required to complete the following rotations:

  • Orientation and pharmacy services
  • One general medicine rotation
  • One two-month core rotation
  • One management rotation or hospital project
  • Staffing: every other weekend (8 hour shifts x 2) and some holidays
  • Emergency Department/Medication Reconciliation

  • Oncology
  • Pharmacy Management and Administration
  • Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit
  • Home Infusion/Hospice
  • Emergency Department/Medication Reconciliation
  • Nutrition Support
  • Ambulatory Care
  • Orthopedics

Other Activities

Throughout the year, residents will also participate in:

  • Completion of a pharmacy residency project for presentation at the Midwest Residency Conference 
  • Attendance at and presentation of a poster at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
  • P & T committee
  • Journal Club
  • Off-site visits to Park Nicollet specialty clinics and/or programs
  • Opportunity to provide teaching for courses at the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy
  • Assist in precepting College of Pharmacy IPPE and APPE students
  • Family Medicine Noon Conference
  • ACLS training and certification
  • Assist with recruitment of future pharmacy residents
