What's new at Park Nicollet?

  • Park Nicollet has teamed up with WCCO-TV and Star Tribune to highlight an important health issue each month. This month’s feature is on skin care, common skin conditions and recommended measures to help prevent skin cancer. Watch for more on these important health topics and others in newspaper ads, television commercials and on a Web site, stayhealthymn.com. Check out previous month’s topics, too, including heart and women’s health.

  • As a member of The Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS), Park Nicollet is encouraging patients to play an active role in managing their medications. MAPS is recommending the use of My Medicine List and asking that the list be updated every time you start and stop taking medications. MAPS membership includes the Minnesota Hospital Association, Minnesota Medical Association, Minnesota Department of Health and more than 50 other public and private health care organizations working together to improve patient safety.

  • Diet and activity are two key components that support healthy living. As an added convenience to our patients and staff, Park Nicollet will once again open its Healthy Living Farmers Markets June 18 through September 13. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available for purchase at two locations throughout the summer:

    • Methodist Hospital campus, every Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Park Nicollet Clinic—St. Louis Park every Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Call the Healthy Living Information Line at 993-3902 for more details.

  • Likely you know all about SPF-rated sunscreens, lotions, cosmetics and more. But are you aware of the ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) in some clothing? With a UPF50+ rating, Coolibar® sun-protective products have been awarded the Skin Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation. Stop by Health & Care Store @ Park Nicollet locations to learn more. Check out hats, and ask how you can take advantage of free shipping when you place catalog orders for clothing and other items.

  • We are excited to announce a recent restructuring of refractive surgery pricing. Prices for laser eye surgery, including LASIK, now start at $1,199 per eye, depending on the complexity of your prescription. With our 0-money down, 0-percent financing for 18 months, your cost could be as low as $66 per month.
  • Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) has issued a voluntary recall on Complete MoisturePlus Multipurpose contact lens solution. You are advised to throw away your Complete MoisturePlus solution, your contact lens case and contact lenses that may have been exposed to this solution. For more information about this recall, visit the AMO Web site. If you are a Park Nicollet contact lens patient and have additional questions, we encourage you to contact our contact lens customer service agents at 952-993-1512.
