- Solve the struggle of talking to your children about cancer. You are invited to an event featuring Wendy S. Harpham, MD, cancer survivor and author of "When a Parent has Cancer." - Park Nicollet Institute recently recognized Jeffrey Mandel, MD, Margaret Healey, PhD, and John Schousboe, MD, for excellence in research, education and contributions to science. Mandel, an internist at Park Nicollet Clinic—Bloomington, was named Educator of the Year for his long-standing commitment to professional education. Healey was named Researcher of the Year for her many years of dedication to clinical research. Schousboe, a rheumatologist at Park Nicollet Clinic—St. Louis Park, was the lead author for the Paper of the Year.
- While mammograms remain the gold standard for detecting breast cancer, they can miss one in five cases of cancer. That’s why Park Nicollet Jane Brattain Breast Center is the first in the Twin Cities to begin using Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging. The new gamma imaging test eliminates unnecessary biopsies and delivers peace of mind.
- The Upper Midwest's largest eating disorders treatment center plans on moving its leading edge programs to a new facility by 2009. Construction of the new Eating Disorders Institute begins in September.
