FAQs for Noninvasive

FAQ - Noninvasive tests, treatment appointments

Where is the noninvasive testing area?

We are located on the third floor. Park in the Blue Ramp in front of the center. Bring your parking ticket to your appointment to receive a discounted rate. Take the elevator to the third floor and see one of the assistants at the desk in the waiting area.

Do I need a referral?

Noninvasive testing requires a referral; however, a consultation with a cardiologist does not require a referral.

How long will the appointment take?

An appointment for a resting echo or a stress echo generally takes up to an hour.  Nuclear cardiology testing takes about two hours.

Does my insurance cover the test or treatment?

We accept most major insurance plans, including HealthPartners, Patient Choice, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Medica Choice, Medica Elect, Medica Select Care, Araz and PreferredOne, among others.

If you have questions about coverage or about your bill, call your insurance provider or call Park Nicollet Business Services at 952-993-7672.

What happens at my appointment?

If you are coming for a resting echo, stress echo or holter monitoring test, you will need just one appointment. You may need two appointments for nuclear cardiology testing. Each test is different, so for specific information, you may visit our tests and treatments section or call 952-993-5305.

Who should I call if I have questions about my appointment or treatment?

Please call 952-993-5305 with any questions.

Is my test normal? How does it look?

Sonographers or technicians performing your test cannot answer these questions. A cardiologist will read your study.

If it is not my heart, what else could it be?

Your referring doctor knows you best, and will be able to discuss other possibilities with you.

How do I get my test results?

Your test results will be given to your referring doctor. Your referring doctor or nurse will call or send a letter based on their clinic practice.
