FAQs for vascular surgery

FAQ - Vascular Surgery

Where is vascular surgery?

Vascular surgery is on the third floor of the Heart and Vascular Center. Take the elevators to the third floor and check in at the reception desk.

Park in the Blue Ramp in front of the center. Bring your parking ticket to your appointment to receive a discounted rate.

Do I need a referral?

A referral from your primary care doctor may be needed to see one of our surgeons. Check with your insurance plan to avoid any scheduling delays.

What kinds of insurance do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans, including HealthPartners, Patient Choice, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Medica Choice, Medica Elect, Medica Select Care, Araz and PreferredOne, among others.

If you have questions about coverage or about your bill, call your insurance provider or call Park Nicollet Business Services at 952-993-7672.

What happens at the appointment?

At your appointment, you will first see a nurse who will initially discuss your reason for the visit and take any needed information.

Next, one of our vascular surgeons will see you to discuss your condition and evaluate how to proceed. This could include many options, such as further testing or monitoring the condition.

Will stenting be done during an angiogram?

If you are asked to have an angiogram and doctors detect the need for one or more stent, it usually will be done at that time, instead of having you come back. But, if circumstances warrant, there may be occasions when you will be asked to return to complete the procedure.
