When inpatient or surgical care is needed, it will be provided at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn. Methodist Hospital offers patients a combination of caring medical professionals and sophisticated technology.

Inpatient registration

An admission coordinator will contact you before your scheduled procedure to register you for your hospital stay.

When you arrive for your procedure

Enter Methodist Hospital off of Louisiana Avenue; follow signs to Orange parking lot. Enter the hospital and proceed to Surgery Admitting on the main floor.  

Heart and vascular patients will receive inpatient care in one of the following areas.

Unit		Description
2 North/South, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)		This 22-bed ICU provides care for critically ill, complex medical and surgical patients who require continuous monitoring, special procedures and intensive nursing care.
3E, Cardiac Telemetry		This 38-bed nursing unit is the primary unit for patients receiving inpatient heart services. 3E is the home for patients who do not need intensive heart care, but need round-the-clock telemetry monitoring.
3 North/South Cardiovascular Advanced Care		This 18-bed ICU step-down unit is for patients who have had vascular surgery, an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), or are experiencing a medical crisis. This includes unstable patients with cardiac, renal, pulmonary or multisystem disorders. Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center patients probably will be transferred to this unit if they require an overnight stay following cardiac catheterization.
3 South, Acute Chest Pain Evaluation		This six-bed unit specializes in evaluating and treating patients with acute chest pain.
5W, General Medical		5W is a 56-bed general medical and minor surgical unit for patients with a wide variety of diagnosis and ages.
7W, Orthopedics and General Surgery		7W is a 48-bed orthopedic and general surgery unit. Staff often treats vascular surgery patients.
