Highlights in research, education
and innovation

Photo of the International Diabetes Center live teleconference

The Institute tested a teleconference with a Web slide presentation and a live satellite broadcast with simultaneous Web cast to evaluate opportunities for convenient, efficient and interactive continuing medical education programs. Pfizer Inc. awarded $427,000 to International Diabetes Center to pilot the satellite broadcast, which reached more than 200 hospital sites across the country.

Twin Cities news anchor and medical reporter Dennis Douda moderated a discussion with International Diabetes Center’s Richard Bergenstal, MD, left, and David Kendall, MD, right, on multiple risk factor management in diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
