Park Nicollet Child and Family Behavioral Health (formerly Park Nicollet Alexander Center and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry/Psychology) cares for families of children and adolescents with emotional, developmental and behavioral needs. Starting May 26, visit us at our new space at Park Nicollet Clinic—St. Louis Park. We are located on the 6th Floor of the 3800 Building.

Psychiatry, psychology and counseling.

Our child and adolescent mental health experts offer individual and group/family counseling, comprehensive diagnostic services and ongoing medication management. We offer help for children and adolescents experiencing:

  • Anger issues and abuse
  • Anxiety, stress and depression
  • Attention deficit disorders
  • Bipolar disorders
  • Family concerns, such as divorce, parenting or relationship difficulties
  • Fetal alcohol syndrome
  • Grief and loss
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Phobias, panic
  • Relationship problems
  • School phobia, social skill difficulties; behavioral concerns
  • Substance abuse/chemical dependency

Developmental behavioral pediatrics

Our care teams are dedicated to helping your children thrive. Children with developmental and learning concerns often have many complex reasons for their learning and behavioral patterns. Our approach is to understand the "whole child." Common conditions include:

  • Attention deficit disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Behavioral concerns
  • Developmental delays
  • Learning difficulties
  • Speech and communication difficulties

To help children grow and thrive, we develop individual treatment plans based on each child's individual needs. Treatments and resources may include:

  • Biofeedback and self-regulation
  • Counseling and support for children and families
  • Medication management (if needed)
  • Non-medicinal interventions for developmental and behavioral issues
  • Social skills groups
  • Speech and language assessment and therapy
  • Transition planning for young adults
  • ADHD parent or support group
