Our care team can answer your questions about lung and breathing problems, sleep issues and more.
Pulmonologists are board-certified critical care, pulmonary and sleep experts. We provide care for people with conditions such as asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, sarcoidosis and other lung illnesses. Pulmonologists work with Methodist Hospital Sleep Disorder Center to assess and treat people experiencing sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy and insomnia. We also provide critical care services to hospitalized patients.
Respiratory therapists perform various breathing tests to assess your lung’s mechanical and physiologic function. These tests help identify emphysema, asthma, lung fibrosis, unexplained cough and other conditions.
Nurses provide education and support to patients with lung and sleep problems. Education includes inhaler teaching, medication instructions and information about the various lung illnesses and sleep disorders. We refill medications, submit prior authorizations for coverage and assist with coordination of care.
Support staff schedule appointments and tests, direct phone calls and assist patients in navigating between pulmonary and sleep services.
