At Park Nicollet, our trained rehabilitation professionals provide comprehensive services, including specialty services in outpatient, inpatient and home-care settings. From stroke to pediatric rehabilitation and voice therapies, we offer you an extensive range of services.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

Park Nicollet's skilled rehabilitation staff has a common goal: to maximize every opportunity for your recovery following the physical or cognitive effects from disease or injury. We strive to help you improve your ability to function and care for yourself in the most effective way.

Patients admitted to the Inpatient Rehabilitation program include those who have had a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury, surgery, cancer, loss of limb, neurological or medically complex condition. We accept all insurances.

Criteria for Admission:

  • A team approach to patient care with expected significant improvements in activities (walking, grooming, bathing, etc.).
  • Daily care from rehabilitation trained nurses.
  • Close medical care by a physician with specialized training or experience in rehabilitation.
  • Intensive twice-a-day therapy totaling at least three hours of physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), speech therapy, orthotics and prosthetics.
  • Family training for care after discharge.

  • Each patient's care is customized to fit their needs with the input of the patient, family, physicians and rehabilitation team. The rehabilitation team includes:

  • Dieticians

  • CARF_GoldSealPark Nicollet's Inpatient Rehabilitation program is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF). CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist providers in improving the quality of their services, demonstrating value, and meeting internationally recognized organizational and program standards.

    Park Nicollet's Neurological Unit is also accredited by the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Stroke INSPIRE Program

Stroke resources and support

Our Stroke INSPIRE program offers survivors and their family support and education through seminars and support groups. We also provide educational resources through our Neurological Learning Center resource library. The center offers up-to-date information on strokes, brain injuries and other neurological disorders affecting children and adults. For more information, call 952-993-6875.
