Biography

My goal is to strive to provide the best possible care coupled with deep compassion. I strongly believe in John Gregory’s 18th century characterization of an ideal physician: "humanity, sensibility of heart to feel for the distresses of fellow beings, and a powerful urge to help them". I also feel that my patients and I are an inseparable team in the process of sustaining health and they are best served by free and open communication. Additionally, I believe that prevention is far more important than a cure alone and have incorporated this daily during my previous practice as an Academic Cardiologist while on faculty at the University of Minnesota. My major areas of interest and expertise include coronary artery disease, especially preventive cardiology, women’s heart health and heart disease and cardiovascular imaging – especially utilizing newer non-invasive modalities of diagnosing coronary artery disease.
