Biography

Plastic surgery is about form and function - how our bodies look and how well they work for us. It can restore function to a damaged body part, such as an injured hand or cleft lip. It may also restore function to the whole person allowing the cleft-lip child to enjoy a normal childhood or a mastectomy patient to feel whole again after reconstruction. Plastic surgery may soften the changes caused by time, age or illness. Our appearance does affect the way we face the world. By changing someone's appearance, we can help patients feel more in harmony with their bodies and their world.
