About us

Methodist Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Our experienced staff works with specialists from several medical areas, including pulmonary medicine, neurology, psychiatry and otolaryngology. Together, they provide a total care program that helps patients with sleep disorders. Our staff includes the following.

Sleep technologists

A staff of 16 experienced sleep technologists monitor, record and score all sleep studies. They are able to provide sleep studies during your normal sleeping hours.

Sleep educators

The primary duty of our three sleep educators on staff is to provide general sleep disorder education and troubleshoot problems that arise with treatment. Sleep educators work with patients and families to get the most benefit from recommended therapy. Additionally, sleep educators provide community education on sleep and sleep disorders.

Sleep educators include registered sleep techs (RPSGTs), registered respiratory therapists (RRTs) and registered nurses (RNs).

Sleep doctors

Eight sleep doctors are responsible for conducting sleep evaluations. They track patients’ progress, review findings and recommend treatments.

Sleep doctors also keep in close contact with specialists from other medical specialties. Sleep doctors review information from a wide variety of medical sources and use it to help their patients.

Our doctors are board-certified in various medical specialties and have additional training in sleep medicine. Two have Diplomate, American Board of Sleep Medicine (D, ABSM) certification.

Administrative staff

Three administrative assistants on staff are responsible for scheduling sleep studies and clinic appointments.

They are available to answer your questions and direct you to the best available resources. They are the driving force behind our smoothly running processes and procedures.
