INSPIRE Neurological Learning Center
INSPIRE Neurological Learning Center offers stroke prevention, intervention and awareness through community outreach education and support, plus information about a multitude of neurological disorders. INSPIRE is part of rehabilitation services at every phase of recovery. The program is made possible through individual gifts and grants through Park Nicollet Foundation. INSPIRE is coordinated by speech pathology staff.
Neurological learning center
The center contains comprehensive information on strokes, brain injuries and other neurological disorders. Educational materials, including pamphlets, newsletters, books, videotapes and audiotapes, are available for checkout. Volunteers – all of whom are stroke survivors – staff the center.
We provide resources, support groups and educational opportunities to patients of Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital’s acute stroke and rehabilitation units, their families and the general public. Free computer access is available to review Web information on neurological disorders, with many Web sites bookmarked for easy use.
We also participate in community stroke screenings, plus education and awareness events, through partnerships with the Courage Center, University of Minnesota, National Stroke Association and American Heart Association.
