Occupational therapy provides comprehensive evaluation, education and direct treatment of patients with physical, cognitive, visual or psychosocial impairments that affect their ability to perform activities of daily living. Services are designed to improve impairments, allowing patients to achieve the highest level of independence. Patients of all ages, from infants to elderly, are served in a variety of settings, from inpatient care to home-care to outpatient care.

Occupational therapists help patients:

• perform daily activities (dressing, cooking, eating, driving)
• use adaptive equipment (such as aids for eating and dressing)
• manage medications and finances
• increase strength and dexterity
• return to work
• improve visual and cognitive skills
