Spine care

	Rehabilitation professionals work with a multidisciplinary care team for effective spine care.

Spine care is designed to assess, manage and treat people with back and neck pain, or chronic back and neck conditions.

About our program

A physical therapist with additional training in spine care will complete a comprehensive spine evaluation, design an individualized treatment program and set goals with patients. Treatment includes the following.

• Assessment of strength, motion, level of pain, posture, reflexes, sensation and other tests as needed.
• Evidenced-based treatments may include manual therapy (spine or soft-tissue manipulation), traction, therapeutic exercise and treatments for pain, muscle spasm and inflammation.
• Education in proper posture, body mechanics and ergonomics.
• A customized home exercise program established to progress toward patient goals and help with self-management.
• Collaboration with a referring doctor for more spine care specialty services at Park Nicollet when appropriate.

A doctor referral is required for treatment, and can be faxed to the treatment location.
