Pregnancy and travel
If you travel while pregnant, here are some tips to consider.
- Check with your doctor to make sure no special health care concerns will prevent you from traveling.
- Try to plan any trips for your second trimester. The second trimester is when most women are most comfortable during pregnancy.
- Walk around to improve circulation and reduce swelling.
- Elevate your feet, when possible.
- Carry light snacks and juice.

- Check with your doctor before taking motion sickness pills or any other medication.
- Get enough sleep.
- Bring a copy of your medical record and get the name of a doctor or facility where you could go for treatment, if necessary.
- Sit in an aisle seat for the greatest comfort.
