• Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery was designated a Center of Excellence by American Society for Bariatric Surgery. The Centers of Excellence program recognizes organizations that practice only top-quality care, ensuring the most successful outcome possible for each patient.
• Methodist Hospital achieved Primary Stroke Center Certification from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. This designation acknowledges the excellent care, safety and outcomes for stroke patients at Methodist.
• Park Nicollet Neurosciences added a TIA (transient ischemic attack) Clinic to help triage patients, provide rapid intervention and help prevent larger strokes from happening. The clinic is the first of its kind in the area. Neurosciences also added deep brain stimulation (DBS) to its list of treatments and services. DBS is a surgical treatment, requiring an electrode implanted into a patient’s brain, and is revolutionizing treatment for people suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
• Methodist Hospital was named a 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital by Solucient®, a respected source of health care information. Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center received Premier’s Q Award for excellence in heart attack care and HealthFront’s Gold Award for Excellence in Quality in managing coronary artery disease.
• Park Nicollet Health Care Products began a new series of resource guides for people living with a chronic condition. The first, a diabetes resource guide, provides contact information for the wide variety of diabetes services, products and educational programs offered at International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet.
