Stewardship

Stewardship is our commitment to improve the health of our community and make prudent use of resources the community has entrusted to us.

  • Park Nicollet achieved profitability in each quarter of 2006. Overall patient volume increased 4 percent from 2005. This was a significant accomplishment, as many health care organizations faced economic hardships in 2006.
  • Park Nicollet Foundation’s "make it better" campaign reached $28.6 million in gifts in 2006. The total campaign goal is $35 million. Gifts are designated to six areas of greatest need: Park Nicollet Cancer Center, Methodist Hospital’s Eating Disorders Institute, Methodist Hospital’s Struthers Parkinson’s Center, International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet, Healthy Community Fund and Park Nicollet Institute research.
  • More than 1,200 people attended Park Nicollet’s 26th annual Celebration for Life gala and helped raise $337,000 for health care innovations.
  • The Foundation distributed more than $2 million through 189 grants in 2006. More than 5,000 grateful patients, families, Park Nicollet doctors and other staff, plus generous donors from the communities we serve, gave to the Foundation.
  • Diamondhead Community Clinic opened in Burnsville, Minn. This free, walk-in clinic for youth (infancy through high school) was a joint effort with Independent School District 191, Community Action Council, Dakota County Public Health and Park Nicollet Health Services through its Foundation.
  • An “I Need to Know” marketing campaign raised community awareness of common, and potentially serious, medical conditions. Our campaign focused on assuring our community that we have the resources to meet all their health care needs.
