CEO message
Park Nicollet has gone through a year of tremendous progress. We adopted a new vision – everyone caring, every day – and strengthened our values. These guide us in providing personalized, supportive care for our patients, enhancing our ability to provide high-quality care, and meeting the needs of every patient.
We are committed to create greater value for our patients by expanding our facilities to accommodate need. In 2007, we began building two new facilities: Park Nicollet Frauenshuh Cancer Center, and Park Nicollet Melrose Institute for patients with eating disorders. Both will open in 2009.
Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital is a national leader in patient safety, according to the influential "2007 Leapfrog Top Hospitals Quality and Safety Survey." Only 41 hospitals in the United States made the list.
For a third year in a row, Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center and Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital were named one of the nation's 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2006-2007 by Thomson Health Care. Fewer than 2 percent of America's hospitals make it onto this list, and we are very proud of this achievement. Our cardiothoracic program also was recognized by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons as being in the top 15 percent of cardiac surgery programs in the country.
We continue to apply Lean Production methods to improving the quality of what we do and removing waste. As a result, we continue to see improvements in the experience of our patients and the ability of our staff to reliably provide the best care every day.
Park Nicollet is committed to serving its patients with caring and excellence, and providing the best possible outcomes by supporting their health, healing and learning.
Sincerely,
