Park Nicollet Health Services Web site was redesigned in 2004, taking into consideration various needs of visitors, including individuals who may be:

• using assistive technologies that range from screen readers to touch screens to compensate for visual or mobility impairments
• connecting to the Internet from palm pilots, mobile telephones and in-car browsers
• experiencing low vision issues and want to adjust screen displays to improve legibility

Park Nicollet’s Web site has been optimized to work especially well with screen readers, such as IBM Home page Reader and JAWS. Testing is ongoing and important changes will be made accordingly to meet accessibility goals.

Web site design strategies are guided by Section 508 Standards of the U.S. Rehabilitations Act and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines defined by the World Wide Web Consortium.
