Personal

As a former NAVY brat, I've had the pleasure of living on both coasts before finally settling down in the Midwest.  Despite the long, cold winters, I've grown to love the change in seasons and family-friendly atmosphere that Minnesota has to offer.  My husband (another NAVY brat) and I have made a home in the northern suburbs where we enjoy spending time with our two kids and ever-faithful dog, Indy.  In my free time, I enjoy camping, photo scrap-booking and watching movies.

I've been a pediatric nurse since the onset of my nursing career and by sheer luck was given the opportunity to practice diabetes education in 2002.  I've thoroughly enjoyed learning, educating and growing with all of my patients and their families.  I've been a routine member of the medical staff at Camp Needlepoint for years and look forward to many more sessions of this great outdoor fun!  I recently completed my Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner and in my search for jobs, was lucky to find a position in pediatric diabetes.  I firmly believe that a strong team is the key to success when it comes to chronic disease management.  I love working with kids of all ages and look forward to being a member of your family's team.
