My Areas of Practice

As an RN Health Care Home Coordinator, my role is providing coordination of care for individuals with complex care needs and/or chronic health conditions. This is accomplished within the Internal Medicine clinic's health care home.  I work in partnership with the patient, family, and their health care team along with any community supports. I constantly strive to respect the unique aspects of each person with an awareness of individual physical, emotional, cultual, spiritual, and financial needs. Education and care is tailored to patient preferences and individual learning styles and needs. I find it a priviledge to know the patients with whom I work and help them in reaching their goals.

I have worked in Fargo, ND at Sanford Health System as a diabetes nurse educator for the past 15 years. I have found working with people in diabetes education and management to be very professionally challenging and personally enjoyable. Witnessing the development of a person's diabetes self managment skills is especialy rewarding. It has been an honor to work with so many patients who have taught me so much.

I also worked at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN for 14 years. At Rice, I worked as a diabetes nurse educator, Pediatric nurse, medical nurse, and nurse manager.
