I grew up in North Dakota and appreciate community and the ability to spend time getting to know patients and families on a personal level.  It is truly a privilege to get to know people and tailor their medical care and decision-making for their individual expectations and success.   Having been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 6 years old, I appreciate a knowledgeable medical team as well as the importance of family support and individual hard work for success.  I practice what I teach on a daily basis.   When I am not at Park Nicollet, I enjoy spending time with my husband Mike and all his crazy athletic endeavors and our fantastic yellow labs (Rudy and Enzo).   I exercise to stay healthy but really don't want anyone to time me!  In the summer, time with family at the lake is a true get-away.  Since my family is spread out across the US, this time is really valuable. I enjoy cooking, spending Saturday mornings in the fall watching College Game Day and love watching college football and college hockey.
