My Areas of Practice
My birth philosophy is that the majority of healthy women are able to birth their babies with very little intervention.  I believe it is a midwife's job to support women in their birthing choices, while remaining vigilant for any complications that may arise.  I am excited to be joining the Park Nicollet Midwives, where I know this philosophy is practiced.

Before becoming a midwife, I spent 10 years attending births as a doula, a labor and delivery nurse, and  a birth assistant.  I have attended births at hospitals, birth centers and at home.  These experiences have shown me that women are powerful and capable of amazing things.  It is an honor to attend births, and I love being a midwife for this reason.

When not working, I am involved with family and community activities.  I volunteer for my children's schools, a local birth collective, and a community supported agriculture farm.  I enjoy teaching my children to garden and to care for our chickens.  Reading, traveling and camping are my favorite hobbies.  I live in rural Minnesota with my husband and children.
