My Areas of Practice
I welcome patients to my practice who are seeking care for a wide variety of eye problems. My primary area of specialty is cataract surgery, including the use of toric intraocular lenses (correcting for astigmatism), and multifocal intraocular lenses (correcting for both distance and near vision). I also enjoy seeing patients for refractive surgery consultation (LASIK or PRK surgery), glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and eyelid problems. I am indebted to the excellent teachers that got me to where I am today, therefore I strive to be an excellent teacher to each patient I see, and I enjoy explaining eye problems in terms that patients can easily understand. The best part of my job is helping my patients through the process of cataract surgery to restore their vision and improve their quality of life.

Personal

I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. When not at Park Nicollet, I enjoy spending time with my wife and young son, as well as my two brothers and my parents who live in the Twin Cities. I have a variety of hobbies that help to keep me balanced, including playing drums, golf, tennis, skiing, and running. I also have been honored to serve as a "big brother" to a young man through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities program for the last 10+ years, which has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
