I was a nurse before I was a doctor. As a nurse, I saw how valuable it was to listen to patients and take time to explain choices. This is still one of the most important aspects of my practice philosophy. Although I enjoy seeing all childhood and adult allergic diseases, I have a special interest in treating asthma. I volunteer at overnight asthma camp each year with the American Lung Association. Currently I serve as the president of the MN allergy society and the chair of the MN asthma coalition. I try to ski, bike and visit my family in Wisconsin as often as possible with my husband Tom.
