Dr. Lynn Hagedorn has been with Park Nicollet since 1997. For 10 of those years she also served the University of Minnesota as Clinical Assistant Professor, teaching surgery to OB/GYN residents and the business of delivering babies to Family Practice Residents and medical students." I always felt so fortunate to get to do this job -- it was even more fun sharing my knowledge and skills with the enthusiastic students". Her favorite question to new parents during the labor and delivery process was "So tell me how you two first met.............". She can recall lots of interesting stories. Dr. Hagedorn frequently said that she would do this job for free. She often did -- on medical mission trips to Nicaragua, China, Thailand, and Cambodia. Providing birth control, especially laparoscopic tubal sterilization to women who would walk 3 to 4 hours to have the procedure done under local anesthesia, was a humbling experience. International family planning and global women's healthcare will always be her passions. Since retiring from hospital practice at Methodist Hospital 2006, Dr. Hagedorn no longer delivers babies, teaches or performs surgery. She is still available to deliver Prenatal OB care and provide Second Opinions regarding surgery. She is happy to address menopausal concerns. After a rewarding career, Dr. Hagedorn now practices part-time, allowing her to care for her Tibetan Spaniel, Max, and her shelter rescue Poodle, Newbie ( still the New Baby). Her 3 children are grown but as she says "I'll be 90 years old, still worrying about my 60-year-old kids!" - just like many of her patients. When not working she can usually be found in the garden or touring the country with her husband, Charly, on their Harley Davidson Ultraclassic motorcycle.
