Patricia grew up in West St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from Winona State University with a BSN in nursing. In 1997, Patricia received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Minnesota and completed it’s Nurse-Midwifery Program. Prior to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, Patricia worked as a Registered Nurse in several different medical specialties across the United States. Patricia began her work in women’s health in Colorado as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, Patricia is honored to listen to and support women and their families by understanding and respecting their health needs before, during, and after the childbearing years. Patricia believes in treating the whole person with respect to their heritage, culture, and community. “Good health requires balancing the body, mind, and the spirit.” Patricia uses traditional along with alternative medicine and encourages women to actively participate in their health care. Patricia is interested in maximizing women’s health across the lifespan, providing care from adolescence through peri-menopause. She provides preconception care as well as prenatal care and offers traditional as well as the Centering Pregnancy Model of Prenatal Care. When not at Park Nicollet, Patricia enjoys singing, and attending musical events. Patricia loves the outdoors and keeps busy with golf, walking, gardening, hiking, and skiing. She volunteers with high school age youth at her church. Patricia loves to fill her home with friends and laughter while cooking and sharing good food and conversation. Patricia enjoys experiencing new activities, new places, new people, and new cultures. In 2012, she will begin volunteering with Midwives For Haiti. Patricia has an adult son who lives and works in Madison, Wisconsin.
