My Areas of Practice

I am a Board Certified Family Practice Physician with special interests in urgent care medicine and “the minor emergencies of life.” I enjoy laceration repair, office procedures, and caring for sports related injuries. In the hope of “getting it right as often as possible,” when necessary I welcome and enjoy collaboration with colleagues of all specialties in order to provide the highest quality of care to all patients.

Personal

I grew up in a Lutheran pastor’s home in a small midwestern community and eventually became a Lutheran minister myself serving in a parish setting for 7 years prior to matriculating in medical school. My wife of 27 years is an educator and medical transcriptionist. We are raising 4 children who are in various stages of preparing for and actually “leaving the nest.” I am a private pilot and enjoy aviation, physical training, reading, and traveling with my family. When scheduling permits I welcome an occasional acting role in local community theater. A United States Air Force Veteran, I participated in “Operation Enduring Freedom.” My family provides me with strong support and I am grounded by my Christian faith. It is gratifying to have a role in the healthcare of those who entrust me with their medical concerns.
