My Areas of Practice
It was my lifelong dream to become a physician. During medical school, I intended to become a pediatrician. However, after completing clinical rotations in obstetrics, gynecology and surgery, I fell in love with Obstetrics and Gynecology. It was definitely a gut feeling that it was the right specialty for me.  I enjoy the diversity in my practice which includes surgery, clinic, and labor and delivery. In particular, I value the ability to establish long term relationships with my patients. My special interests are in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, daVinci Robotic Surgery, and office procedures (Essure, HTA, Novasure). In addition, my personal experiences with infertility, adoption, and perinatal loss have shaped my practice and given me a new understanding of what my patients are experiencing. I choose to practice at Park Nicollet because I enjoy working in a multispecialty group practice and because I believe in the core values of the clinic – excellence, learning, caring, stewardship and joy.

I was born and raised in St Cloud, MN.  I chose to complete my medical training outside of Minnesota because I knew that I would come home one day to raise my family.  Although my work and family keep me busy, I also volunteer and am actively involved with my church and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).  I am currently the Chair of the MN Section of ACOG and I sit on a national committee.  While growing up, I was a figure skater, and I taught group fitness classes throughout college and medical school. Now I am active running marathons and running after my two children!  In my free time, I enjoy running, downhill skiing, backpacking, reading, and spending time with my husband, Dave, and two children, Johnna and Clayton.
