Anna was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She has lived in many parts of the country, but none as cold as Minnesota. She originally was in art school and studying sociology until she witnessed a friend’s birth experience. After that, there was no question that she had to be a midwife.
She enrolled in nursing school in Texas. After graduation she moved with her husband to Chicago, Illinois. There Anna worked as a busy labor and delivery nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. While in Chicago, she received her Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery. Upon completion she moved again with her husband to Minnesota.
“Regardless of life’s situation, all women deserve complete and mindful health care. The most important thing to do for a woman is to listen, whether it be for their annual exam or during labor. I am honored to be part of women’s lives and help them with daily situations as well as their monumental events. I look forward to every day when I can learn, share, and most of all, help.”
Anna loves to spend time with her husband, 3 year old daughter Lucy, five month old baby, Benjamin and the family dog, Mija. The family regularly visits the dog park and enjoys outdoor activities, even in the cold and snow. Anna loves to garden, swim and do creative activities. Anna has worked in Belize three separate times to help with women's health and community outreach and plans on much more abroad travel.
