My Areas of Practice
I feel that quality health care results from focusing on a patient's physical and emotional condition. I became a vascular surgeon because it is an area that requires a physician to treat many different medical problems simultaneously. The chronic nature of vascular disease also allows the surgeon and patient to develop a lasting relationship. I completed my general surgery training in 1996 at the University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. I subsequently underwent three years of vascular training, one year abroad in England and a two-year vascular fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The fellowship involved a high volume of patients with a particular focus on renal artery disease and carotid artery stenosis.  I also enjoy the challenge of aortic surgery and treating and preserving peoples' limbs who have severe P.A.D. (peripheral arterial disease).  Finally, I greatly enjoy curing people who have symptomatic varicose veins.
