My Areas of Practice

As a rheumatologist, I am honored to have the opportunity to care for patients with often complex, chronic, and difficult-to-understand diseases. I have broad experience in treating a variety of rheumatic diseases including (but not limited to) inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, etc) and systemic collagen vascular diseases (such as scleroderma, lupus, vasculitis, etc). I particularly enjoy treating autoimmune myopathies ("myositis"), rheumatology-dermatology overlap conditions, geriatric patients, and the underserved population. I have also successfully completed additional ultrasound training through the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) and enjoy utilizing ultrasound for making real-time diagnoses and performing procedures. I typically do not treat chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia or chronic non-inflammatory back or neck pain. These conditions are often best treated in a multidisciplinary approach involving primary care, physical therapy, pain clinic, and often PMR (physical medicine and rehab).

Whatever the condition I am helping to diagnose and treat, it is important to me to ensure that patients and their families feel respected, listened to, and in the hands of a provider who is competent and truly cares. I am excited to be a part of Park Nicollet's team.

Personal

I grew up in the Twin Cities but trained at various institutions throughout the Midwest. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time outdoors, including hiking, canoeing, fishing, gardening, and playing pond hockey. I also enjoy baking, singing in a local women's choir, traveling the world, and spending time with my husband and three (yes, three!) dogs.
