My Areas of Practice
Even after 26 years at Park Nicollet, I can still say I have the best job in the world. My favorite part of "work" is caring for women during high and low risk pregnancies, labor and delivering their precious babies. Fortunately, my patients continue to grow older with me. Thus, I find similar enjoyment in tackling the challenges of their transition through menopause to active and healthy postreproductive years. While I am experienced in many surgical therapies for common gynecologic conditions, I do refer my patients with complex surgical needs to my very competent colleagues with special expertise in these areas. I particularly enjoy working with lesbian couples in all aspects of OBGYN care, including family building. I am proud of Park Nicollet's designation as a national leader in the Human Rights Campaign's HealthCare Equality Index that demonstrates nondiscrimination in LGBT patient care and employment policies. I view primary preventive health care as an important part of Women's Health and I view my patients as partners in their health care decisions and actions to ensure the best outcomes possible for their individual circumstances. I am also grateful for the supportive environment in which I practice. From Jacki, "my nurse" of 20 years to our senior administrative leadership, we are working together to continually improve the care and experience provided to our patients.

I grew up in Lutsen, Minnesota, along the North Shore of Lake Superior, an amazing place to call home. In addition to clinical medicine, I have been privileged to hold leadership roles in both the American Congress of OBGYN at all levels and at Park Nicollet, as Chair of the Clinical Board of Governors from 2006-2011. My goal while in any leadership role is to use my clinical experience with direct patient care to improve the systems upon which we all rely to provide quality, evidence based medical care. My husband is an orthopedic surgeon and my son is a commercial pilot in Alaska. When not at Park Nicollet, I enjoy travel, flying our Cessna 210, skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, and all activities outdoors.
