My Areas of Practice

It is my honor to be serving as a Marriage & Family Therapist at Melrose Center. Over the past several years I have developed a great passion for journeying alongside families as they navigate the complex and complicated terrain of helping a loved one with an Eating Disorder. My practice is centered on assisting individuals & families to explore the emotional, mental, physical, & spiritual areas of treatment & recovery. I use an integrative therapeutic approach utilizing Family Based Therapy, Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused, & strengths-based techniques.

I believe that the family is the most important tool we have in fighting Eating Disorders. I approach each session with this in mind. Families and supportive loved ones are THE greatest asset in combating this battle.

My special interests include adolescents, families, young adults, & athletes. I have a passion for focusing on self-worth & identity in the context of treatment as well.

Personal

I believe that ALL of us influences ALL the different areas of our lives. When I work with individuals & families, I come as a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend & a coach.

I live in South Minneapolis with my husband & one-year old daughter & our basset hound, Ollie. I love spending time with my family & friends, running and/or biking the lakes, traveling, playing tennis, taking photos, being outside doing ANYTHING, & cooking. One of my passions is coaching tennis. I have been the Varsity girl's tennis coach at Blake High School for the past 8 years. I recently resigned due to family & life changes, but hope to return at another chapter in life. I enjoy integrating my love of therapy & athletic coaching together.
