My entire life, I knew I wanted to be involved in nursing, and when I was introduced to midwifery in high school, I found my niche. Since then, my life has revolved around helping women and babies during the miracle of birth. Prior to receiving my masters, I worked as a Labor and Delivery/Postpartum/Newborn nurse in out-of-hospital and hospital environments.
One month after finishing my masters degree, my husband and I welcomed our daughter via a waterbirth at a birth center in Colorado. Our supportive and caring birthing environment was one I will never forget. When our daughter was 5months old, we returned to Minnesota to be closer to family. Watching my daughter learn daily brings me the greatest joy. Spending time with family, outdoors (running, biking, playing), and time with our friends has been well accepted upon returning.
Having my own birth experience to reference, I feel the care I am able to provide has grown exponentially. Each birth experience is individual for both mom and baby. As a result, the care provided should be personal and directed towards the woman and families wishes.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your miracle!
