Kira grew up in South Minneapolis and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Gustavus Adolphus College. After graduation, Kira traveled east with her husband to study at Yale University School of Nursing where she completed her MSN. Upon their homecoming, Kira worked as an RN in the Family Birth Center at Methodist Hospital and is now a wonderful addition to the Certified Nurse Midwife Services at Park Nicollet. Kira feels very fortunate to work with such a fabulous group of Midwives, nurses, and clinicians at Park Nicollet. Kira has a true passion for working with women from all walks of life and through all the changes life brings. As a nurse-midwife, Kira strives to provide health care that is personalized and thoughtful. She sees each woman as a unique person and is honored to work with them as they grow through each meaningful stage of life from adolescence, pregnancy, birth and beyond. Kira enjoys educating women and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care. Kira is also a patient of Methodist Hospital who has delivered both of her boys at Methodist. During her first birth she underwent a C-Section due to complications in her pregnancy. Her second delivery was a VBAC. “I have found that this gave me a unique perspective when caring for women. I have found great joy in helping women who desire a VBAC delivery as well.” Kira is interested in complementary and alternative medicine, post partum depression, and breastfeeding. When not in the clinic Kira loves spending time with her family, music, singing, reading, running, camping, and hiking.
