Biography

As an internal medicine resident I managed many patients whose systemic diseases manifested themselves on the skin. These patients sparked my interest in dermatology, and after completing my internal medicine residency, I began my career as a dermatology resident. I see dermatology not only as a specialty of skin diseases, but also as the study of the external manifestations of many internal diseases. I also enjoy helping patients feel good about themselves by looking their best, and what better way than teaching how to care for their skin? Though I teach patients about sun avoidance, in my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities including gardening, biking, walking and chasing after my two children. Of course, I always wear lots of sunscreen!
